I grew up in Plano, TX where my passion for photography began at a very young age. It wasn't until after graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas and backpacking around Europe for 5 months that I realized I wanted to pursue my dreams of a career in photography. Last year  I packed up my bags and moved to Berlin, Germany to attend an International Photography program.

People often ask where the name "Augusta Leigh" came from. When I was in college my mom helped me open a small boutique inside an antique mall and I named it after my late grandmother who was Augusta Leigh Key. The name just stuck and that's where it all began.

My favorite part about photography is that you can always challenge yourself and there is never a reason to be bored. Whether I'm practicing food photography, or long exposure Milky Way shots, there is always something new to learn.

I hope to inspire people through this blog to get out of their bubble/ comfort zone and to travel far and wide. When I use the word "travel" I don't always mean lounging at a 5 star resort with a strawberry daiquiri in hand. I mean pack up the least amount of clothes, stay in hostels, take public transportation, talk to locals, and challenge yourself.
