Right in the heart of Berlin is the fascinating venue, The Grand, where you can fine dine, drink innovative cocktails, and dance the night away. The eclectic setting is dripping in all things vintage mixed with luxurious and warm elements. The building dates back to 1842 when it was once a school, divided with girls on one side of the building and boys on the other. The 1000 m2 house still holds it's historic charm with stunning antique furniture and ornate rugs. Each suite is sponsored by a brand, making each space completely different than the other. It's the perfect place for corporate events, birthday parties, weddings, or any other sort of occasion. The rooms are super private and cosy feeling and can make an special occasion extraordinary. Due to the unique layout of the rooms, they can be transformed into any kind of event you would need- even accommodating up to 800 people. The Grand is also a fascinating place for photoshoots, locations for films, and corporate conferences.

The Grand's restaurant is a fusion of gourmet French and German cuisine with American styled steaks. The restaurant is open for lunch as well as dinner (reservations recommended). We had a feast for lunch when we first visited The Grand. We found a cozy corner booth and were quickly mesmerized by the chabby chic and old worldly feel of the room. We started with a giant artichoke paired alongside 3 delicious dips along with a huge ice tray topped with Fine de Claire oysters. Next was the colorful and fresh spinach salad followed by our even more vibrant main dishes. We couldn't decide on what to choose since everything on menu looks divine. We shared both the grilled salmon fillet which topped sweet beetroot risotto along with a steak cutlet next to bacon wrapped green beans (dream.) To top it off we split a desert, a caramelized fig with ice cream- the perfect treat to finish our meal.

The old worldly and cozy bar offers the perfect space to meet a friend, take a date, or celebrate a birthday party. You feel like you stepped back into an era where prohibition was the law and swing dancers existed. The cigar lounge offers plenty of dark and private corner nooks to relish in while romantic light pours through the windows. The swanky space is somewhere you will want to take clients that you wish to impress. It's a bit more upscale that your typical Berlin pub and a place you'll want to get cozy in this winter. On the weekends the bar has a DJ so it will be quite lively. The bartenders are masters at mixology, creating masterpieces for you to sip on. The drinks are traditional in a sense with a creative flare- adding unheard of ingredients to spawn something original and exciting. Our two favorite cocktails were the Grand Mule and Palomas Passion:

We headed over to the club for Soulclash Night to spend out Friday evening. The two story club also has endless places to lounge with your friends along with plenty of dance floors to play on. The Grand's Live Band on the second floor was a show I want to go back to every weekend. I've never seen my friends come alive like that, singing and dancing along to all the classics with a few modern tunes thrown into the mix. The band was captivating and had the whole room screaming encore or "Zugabe" in German. The third floor had House and R&B music along with a saxophone player, playing throughout the crowd. You can also reserve a table for bottle service for celebrations with the best views of the dance floors. You get the feeling of luxury the minute you walk past the front door and get your name crossed off the list. (Entrance is 10 €)
