In a quiet and cozy neighborhood in the heart of Mitte, you'll find the gorgeous NEUMOND Restaurant. The warm glow from inside seeps through the windows, inviting you in on a chilly winter Berlin day. Dark woods, boldly painted walls, and extravagant floral arrangements are all magnified by the carefully lit rooms, enticing one to come in and stay a while. NEUMOND caters to everyone from meat eaters, midday coffee lovers, vegetarians, or someone just looking for a tasty cocktail. Tim and Vitali took over the restaurant in beginning of 2017 with a vision to create a cozy atmosphere that is paired with impeccable cuisine. I had the honor of getting to chat with Dawid Runowski, the chef behind the innovative dishes and got some insight on how he dreams up such unique creations. The food is served on beautiful authentic platting, all of which was hand selected in flea markets. Each of Dawid's dishes is a masterpiece. From the starters to the desserts, all the tiny touches of detail make each plate photo-worthy. I started with the Pumpkin Creme Soup- a brilliant mixture of Ricotta ravioli, pumpkin oil, glass noodle crisps all in a delicious glass. Following that I tried the Goat Cheese Mousse which came with Lavender espuma, a mango-lentil salad, and fried pike perch. For the mains there is a variety of meat and fish selections like their notorious meatballs, fried corn fed poulard, an Iberico Pork Filet, and cod, along with mushroom gnocchi or pumpkin risotto. You can also order from a set menu which comes with pumpkin 3 ways, a beef fillet with celery white chocolate puree, king oyster mushroom chard and thyme fudge potatoes. Drooling yet? All finished with a Williams Pear paired with cardamom ice cream and quince chutney. The greatest part about NEUMOND though is the weekend brunch. Berlin is known for its love of brunch and everything that revolves around it on the weekend. Although, it isn't quite your typical brunch here at NEUMOND. This one is meant for sharing. Tapas portions of all of your favorite brunch items are served for you to enjoy with your friends or family. You can choose 4, 6, or 9 tapas from goat cheese mousse, cranberry hummus with veggie sticks, tabbouleh, bacon wrapped dates, marinated beet with feta and sunflower seeds, meatballs, baked sweet potato, pancakes, and tapioca with mango sauce! Of course you can also order from the À la carte menu where you'll find tons of Eggs Benedict variations, Turkish eggs or any other style you prefer along with traditional breakfast platters and cheese or veggie plates. Brunch is served on the weekends from 10 A.M.- 5 P.M.
